Artificial Horizon

The Attitude Indicator, together with its’ aircraft miniature and the horizon bar, displays a picture of the aircraft’s attitude.

Representation:

. Orange Line = Miniature of Aircraft

. White Line = Horizon

The Horizon separates the Instrument in 2 parts:

· Blue portion which represents Sky

· Brown portion which represents Earth

HOW IT WORKS

This indicator is capable of indicating the degree of which the aircraft is banking or pitching based on both its longitudinal axis and lateral axis respectively.Thus, the pilot can know if the aircraft is:
